McEleney Autoplex, formerly Hargrave-McEleney, Inc., was founded in 1982.  At that time the facility was located on Keokuk Street in Iowa City and was franchised with Oldsmobile and GMC Truck.  In 1986, the Chevrolet and Cadillac franchises were added and later Hyundai.

McEleney Autoplex today is located in the busy corridor on Highway 1 in the southwest region of Iowa City near the Iowa City airport.  The dealership is owned and operated by John McEleney and Patrick Eads and is dedicated to total customer satisfaction.  The McEleney family is one of the largest automobile dealership organizations in Eastern Iowa with two dealerships in Clinton, in addition to McEleney Autoplex in Iowa City.  We are proud of our technologically advanced equipment and outstanding facilities; however, the key to our success is the quality and pride of our employees, each dedicated to provide the most pleasant ownership experience possible.
